Sarah Waldman was appointed the council’s new chief executive officer of Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska in 2021.
Waldman previously served as executive director of TeamMates Mentoring Program, the school-based mentoring program founded by Tom and Nancy Osborne. She led the regional nonprofit, which operates 175 local chapters over five states and serves over 10,000 youth annually.
“Sarah brings a wealth of leadership experience as well as a passion and enthusiasm for working with youth and community service,” said Kate Betsworth, board president for Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska.
Sarah is a senior executive with vast experience in leading diverse teams and consulting with boards of directors. She has deep expertise in board governance, human resources, compliance, ethics, and privacy. Sarah is active in community service and has served in leadership roles on numerous boards, including the Institute for Career Advancement Needs (ICAN), Greater Omaha Alliance for Business Ethics, United Way Women’s Leadership Council and the UNO Alumni Association. Additional board involvement has included Whispering Roots, Community Alliance, Inc. and TeamMates.

Sarah is a long-time ally of ICAN, and a familiar presence in the Omaha business community. As CEO of Girl Scouts of Nebraska, she’ll give us an update on how Girl Scouts has evolved into a progressive training ground for our girls by providing the tools, resources, and opportunities needed for Nebraska’s next generation of women leaders.
